My Daughter is depressed since the death of her friend on NYE. She assumes it was HIS fault for Drowning?

first I want to say sorry about the tragic loss of your daughters friend. Sometimes God puts people here temporarily so that we could learn from that person and realize that life is so precious and too short and we should enjoy every moment of this life. I hope your daughter can cope with this. Second I want to say is that the media lies all the time. They will fabricate things just to gain the attention of many people and wanted to make this look like an "accident" instead of it being his fault. I guess they didnt want him to look "incompetent" in honor of his death. I really don't know if that is exactly what it is but maybe they wanted their family to have peace instead of being angry because it COULD have been prevented if their were some bold swimmers in that crowd watching fireworks. Sometiimes human beings can be so selfish. I can understand why your daughter didnt jump in bc she was scared but im sure there was a grown adult that had years of experience that could have saved that little boy!
